Broccoli is one of those simple vegetables I come back to again and again. I love its fresh green color, slightly crisp texture and natural sweetness when it is cooked just right. It doesn’t need much to taste good – and it fits easily into so many everyday meals.
WHY I KEEP BROCCOLI IN MY KITCHEN
Broccoli is one of my regular vegetables because it’s simple, versatile and easy to pair with almost anything. I can serve it with chicken, fish or eggs, add it to a colorful plate, or simply enjoy it alongside other vegetables.
I also like that it doesn’t need a complicated recipe. Most of the time, I simply boil it in hot water with a little sea salt and olive oil until just tender. The florets stay beautifully green with a little bite, and the natural sweetness comes through.
WHAT BROCCOLI GIVES YOU
Broccoli may look simple, but it brings plenty of goodness to an everyday meal. It naturally provides fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K and folate, along with a variety of plant compounds found in cruciferous vegetables.
What I like most is that I don’t have to think too much about it. Adding a serving of broccoli gives my plate more vegetables, more variety and plenty of satisfying texture – especially when it’s cooked just enough to stay fresh and slightly crisp.
HOW I USUALLY PREPARE IT
I usually keep broccoli very simple. I bring a pot of water to a boil, add a little sea salt and a small drizzle of olive oil, then add the broccoli florets and cook them briefly until just tender. I like them to stay bright green with a little bite rather than becoming too soft.
Once cooked, I drain the broccoli and serve it as it is. The simple cooking method keeps the broccoli fresh and naturally flavorful, and it pairs easily with eggs, chicken, fish or other vegetables.

FROM MY KITCHEN
This is how broccoli usually appears in my kitchen – simply cooked and served as part of a complete meal. I like pairing it with protein, other vegetables and whatever whole foods I have available that day. It doesn’t need to be the star of the plate to make the meal feel more complete.
A LITTLE REMINDER
Simple vegetables don’t need complicated recipes.
You don’t have to turn broccoli into something elaborate to enjoy it. Cook it the way you like, pair it with foods you already enjoy, and let it become one of those easy vegetables you can come back to again and again.
